Dr. Alexis Rowland
Physical Therapist
Alexis Rowland, PT, DPT, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland College Park in 2018, where she participated in intramural sports and worked in advising collegiate athletes and other students in the School of Public Health. Alexis continued her education at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree, graduating in 2022, where she served as community outreach coordinator on the inaugural Sports PT SIG Board, was a student tutor coordinator, and a student ambassador.
With a variety of clinical experiences within the outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics, and neurological settings, Alexis is passionate about meeting patients where they are and creating an individualized plan of care so that patients have the tools to dominate their goals both inside and outside of the clinic. Alexis is currently studying to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is completing a continuing education course on the foundations of sports rehabilitation, as it is her goal to combine the rehab and performance worlds in her treatment approaches.
Dr. Rowland enjoys collaborating with active individuals and athletes of all ages and backgrounds, and prioritizes being a reliable education source surrounding sports medicine and rehabilitation topics to empower her patients both physically and mentally. She takes particular interest in the role of neuromuscular retraining following a musculoskeletal injury and re-establishing neural pathways and motor control to promote recovery. In her free time you can catch her taking a kickboxing class, cheering on the Washington Capitals hockey team, or planning her next travel adventure.
