I’m incredibly grateful for FX Physical Therapy. The front-desk staff, Mel and Katie, were kind, attentive, personable and exhibited great customer service in setting or changing appointments. My physical therapist was Shaun Baldwin. I worked with Shaun pre- and post- hip replacement surgery. Shaun’s expertise, support and encouraging manner helped me regain full hip mobility and return to the gym. Having never had physical therapy, I appreciated Shaun's clear explanations before each exercise, which made me confident in his care. He was always willing to answer my many questions. The staff at FX Physical Therapy truly care about their patients, and I highly recommend them!

I came in with extreme lower back pain, not able to sleep, bend down and do normal daily activities. Could walk or stand for long periods of time and could lift anything from the ground. Also had knee pain where I couldn’t sleep at night. I started coming to see Maddie twice a week at first and then once a week. For 2-3months. I have no longer got serve back pain and am back to being able to sleep and do my daily activities. I don’t have much pain anymore. I’m able to function without pain throughout the day. It’s been a great experience. Maddie is very professional but really listens to you and customized her approach with me, which I feel has jot happened with previous places I have visited. It’s been an overall positive experience and I have learnt so much about how to strengthen my weaker area of my muscles. I would highly recommend if you have any pain and are maybe sceptical of PTs. They are all extremely knowledgeable and I’m not just saying it.

Jesse Parsons is the best physical therapist I’ve ever had! He’s gotten me through two surgeries. He not only helps with the physical, but the mental too. Amazing and caring bedside manner. Great at home exercise plans to help with pain management. He’s patient and truly in the right field to help anyone he encounters. He’s also great with my kids! He sees two of my sons, mostly for sports related injuries! Anyone would be lucky to get an appt with him.

Colin VanWerkhoven is an extraordinary physical therapist. I recently completed PT with Colin after suffering a disabling shoulder injury which severely limited the use of my dominant arm. His knowledge of the complex anatomy of the shoulder was evident as he resolved the issues causing my disability, with needling, muscle specific exercises and stretches.
Colin has helped regain full, pain-free function of my arm.

I’ve been rehabbing an elbow injury I got as a pitcher towards the end of my baseball season. I’ve been working with Jesse for the most part but I’ve also worked with the other therapists as well. Each one is extremely knowledgeable about my injury and offer great treatment to help heal my injury. Everyone is also very friendly. The front desk workers are great as well, they are very flexible with scheduling and can adjust on the spot. Definitely recommend!

I'm grateful for Shaun Baldwin's therapy for my left shoulder! Originally thought inability to lift arm up without pain for the past ~4 years would be permanent. But his strategic excercises in sessions and homework, stretching, educating my muscle awareness for more proper scapula control, etc. the proper and pain-free function gradually took hold in a few months and now feels 100% healed and really better than maybe ever! Shuan took his time not only to apply his very high level of expertise with real world explanations to help me understand in order to reduce the bad habits that led to my rotator cuff, joint, tendon and muscle control problems. Highly recommended.

The physical therapy room for FXPT is encapsulated by a gym. The parking lot is large, and there is easy access to the front door. When I first entered, I felt a little overwhelmed by the space. However, the PT room is its own separate space, with a closed door. It is spacious and clean, all of the equipment appears to be new and very clean. There seems to be an emphasis on cleanliness (have I mentioned how clean it is yet?) The doctors seem to have access to the most current tools and technology. I see Dr. Baldwin, who explains everything he is doing and having me do in both technical and layman’s terms. He checks in with my comfort frequently, and seems to have a high degree of confidence in his skills. I would recommend their services to anyone needing physical therapy.

Chris Roosa is an excellent Physical Therapist at FX Physical Therapy. His hands on treatment draws from years of experience and training. He understands issues of older patients and treats the source of the problem rather than just the symptoms. He is very thoughtful in diagnosing the issues. In my case he recommended an MRI when the root cause of my issues was unclear.

I have been so pleased with my progress working with Shaun for the last few months. My knee pain is almost nonexistent now. Each session I leave feeling encouraged and stronger. I’ve had rehab for different knee surgeries over the years but have never received so much personal attention and had someone explain the why of what we are doing so well. This is the second time seeing Shaun. The first time was for my knee. His treatment of my knee allowed me to officiate lacrosse games without pain and having to undergo surgery. Today I’m still pain free and working games. This time I was having headaches on a daily bases. After a CT Scan and ruling out issues with the brain my doctor recommended PT. Shaun was able to diagnose my issue as having Cervicogenic Headaches. His treatments over the last few weeks has resulted in my headaches and pain going away. His professionalism and knowledge is second to none. Shaun did a great job explaining each of the treatments and what results could be expected. FXs administrative staff at this location was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend FX Physical Therapy and Shaun as your PT specialist.

All the staff at FX physical therapy in Frederick are kind, knowledgeable, and care about your progress. The difference between FX and other PTs I've been to is that the session is 1:1 and my lifestyle and ADL's are incorporated in my take-home routines. I've seen progress in my range of motion and decrease in pain since seeing Colin. I 100% recommend FX in Frederick and wouldn't go to another business for my PT.

I began seeing Sean at FX at their Frederick location after I injured my left shoulder. Sean was very thorough and professional throughout all of my visits. He was also very successful in solving my shoulder issues. To be specific, I went from being unable to do one pushup a few months ago to painlessly being able to do 24 leg elevated pushups on Tuesday! In addition, Mel is great at the front desk. Friendly and professional throughout! She is great!

FX PT-Frederick have super heroes working as doctors. They are the real deal. They are friendly, happy and caring. I worked with Shaun, Chris and Colin are the most AMAZING PT doctors who helped me recover at an AMAZING rate after my total knee replacement now 4 months ago. Chris only had 3 visits to get me the range of motion needed to eliminate my need for manipulation under anesthesia which my surgeon scheduled for me. After working with Chris for only 3 days, I DID NOT have to get this done!!! Chris looked at my leg after a little bit and said with confidence that he would be able to help me avoid the manipulation!! This confidence gave me a HUGE sigh of relief. I worked very hard on all my home exercises as well. I then had Shaun who is more gentle, but can be as strong as Chris, but will back off if it is too much. Chris showed me what my body could tolerate, Shaun's techniques help me say "uncle" if I needed it. Colin can talk a lot and get the patient to talk to avert attention from the pain or discomfort felt at a given time. Colin also taught me how to breathe through the pain, which I know helped me go further and be able to go past my personal walls I had put up without knowing it. They all work with the same techniques, tools and exercises and all have the same goal, to see me, the patient get better as fast as possible. I need immediate feedback to how well I am doing the exercises or withstanding pain and Shaun was able to give me that as well as his constant smile. Some people smile with their eyes and words. This is what Mel does also, she is the receptionist who was able to make me feel at ease as soon as I talked to her on the phone. I felt she immediately wanted to help me get better. In less than a month I am released from PT. I am getting the range of motion the doctor wanted and can do all the activities with more gusto than I have in 2 years. I am swimming, hiking and walking and AMAZING rates of speed. I am "smooth and symmetrical", this is what my surgeon wrote in her report!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! I am bionic and smooth and symmetrical!!!

I'm a 77-year-old woman who is active and exercises in a gym a few times a week. I have the tightness and limitations in range of motion in hips and legs that come with aging. I have received excellent care from Sean over the last two months that has produced considerable improvements in flexibility and range of motion of hips and knees. These improvements have greatly improved ease of movement and reduced discomfort. An added benefit is that Sean has taught me exercises to do on my own to address discomfort and tightness in hips and legs. I highly recommend FX Physical Therapy as one more tool for managing the aging process.

My daughter Brooklyn has dealt with severe shin splints for several years now. She is an intense soccer player and has been so disappointed when the pain has cut her seasons short or made her have to sit out of a game. I visited FX myself for some back issues and was impressed with their personalized care and wide variety of therapy techniques. I decided to bring Brooklyn in and see if they could help her as she was starting her freshman year on the varsity team. Chris, immediately saw issues in her walking etc, had her get inserts for her shoes to help correct some of it and treated her throughout the season. She not only played the whole season and never once came out of the game for pain, she was a lead scorer for the team and on top of that was awarded MVP as a freshman. Thanks Chris and FX for taking care of her, helping to keep her on the field and also taking an interest in her life. She actually misses PT because of the connections she made with your whole staff!!

Chris Roosa has done an outstanding job in diagnosing the cause of my chronic hip pain and then alleviating it through a combination of physical manipulation, dry needling, and strength and stretching exercises. Colin has done amazing work. Ironically had much better results than the “shoulder specialist” who seemed to not understand what was going on with me. Instead of telling me it’s arthritis and that I’ll need to just bare it. FX has provided a solution and immediate results. The story has repeated itself with my knees and sciatic nerve issues both resolved within 8 weeks. Figured out the cause and has been resolved since.

I am seeing Chris two times a week currently. I’ve only been seeing him for about three weeks and have seen a significant improvement in my knee and left hip pain, but also a tremendous improvement in the physical and psychological pelvic floor postural pain Ive dealt with for years.
