
Dr. Allison Funk
Physical Therapist
Allison Funk PT, DPT, CDNS, ATC, earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Alabama. While at Alabama, she worked with a variety of Division I athletic teams, local high school athletes, and interned with a professional lacrosse team, the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Allison returned home to obtain her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Baltimore, where she worked with University of Maryland College Park and UMBC Division I athletics and focused on research for lower-extremity return-to-sport testing.
Since graduation, Dr. Funk has worked in outpatient orthopedics, using her athletic training background to develop individualized plans of care for her patients. She has completed advanced training in the ACL Rehab BluePrint with Wesley Wang, Aspire OMT, and Owens Recovery Science Personal Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation, and is a Certified Dry Needling Specialist. Dr. Funk enjoys treating athletes from all backgrounds, with special interests in ACL reconstruction, return to sport, post-operative knee and shoulder care, cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, female athletes, and field sports. She stays active with workout classes, loves playing pickleball, and has a chocolate lab puppy.
