Dr. Erik Verhoeven
Physical Therapist
Erik Verhoeven, PT, DPT, CSCS
Dr. Erik Verhoeven is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who brings a performance-driven, strength-based approach to patient care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2021 and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in September. Dr. Erik is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), reinforcing his focus on strength, movement quality, and long-term athletic development.
Dr. Erik has completed multiple outpatient clinical experiences, including a manual therapy–focused rotation and two sports and orthopedic settings. Through these experiences, Erik treated a wide range of individuals—from barbell athletes and competitive high school and collegiate athletes to active adults and weekend warriors—developing a hands-on, performance-minded treatment style.
He has a particular passion for working with barbell athletes, including powerlifters, Olympic lifters, strongman athletes, and bodybuilders, as well as active adults at every level of competition. Erik’s clinical philosophy centers on helping people move better, lift stronger, and return to the activities they love with confidence and resilience.
Outside of the clinic, Erik is an avid weightlifter and enjoys hiking, video editing, reading, and traveling. He thrives on adventure and new experiences—having gone scuba diving with sharks and skydiving—and is always looking for the next opportunity to explore the world and stay active.
