Dr. Kira Zarzuela
Physical Therapist
Kira Zarzuela, PT, DPT, MS, earned her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from University of Maryland, College Park. She acquired her Master of Science in Anatomy and Clinical Health Science while also completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Delaware. After developing an interest in sports physical therapy as an undergrad intern with UMD Athletics, Kira pursued University of Delaware’s sports residency to further specialize in the sport population. Throughout residency, Kira treated patients of all backgrounds and activity levels in UD’s sports and orthopedic clinic. In addition to this, Kira gained experience – both from the sidelines and in the training room – working with local high school athletes, local rugby teams, UD’s DI, DII, and DIII ice hockey teams and UD’s DI men’s and women’s soccer teams for injury management and performance optimization. Kira is passionate about creating individualized treatment plans to help her patients reach their goals, no matter how big or small. Outside of work, Kira enjoys weightlifting, reading, spending time with her friends and family, and playing with her cat, Ash.
