Dr. Nathan Pierce

Clinic Director | Physical Therapist

Nathan Pierce PT, DPT graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2007. He attended Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010.

Dr. Pierce blends both movement-based and biomechanical-based assessments to determine the cause of pain and/or dysfunction. He feels that a regionally interdependent approach in assessing patients is important because often an area that is seemingly unrelated can be contributing to or be a chief cause of their symptoms. He also believes that a local biomechanical approach is equally important in assessment and delivery of care. In addition, he enjoys studying and researching Pain Science, the Mind-Body connection and implementing this information into his delivery of care as these can often be overlooked. He feels that it is imperative that the patient has an understanding of pain science and how it relates to their symptoms to achieve optimal results. He holds multiple advanced certifications including FMS, FCS, SFMA, TPI and MovNat and he often incorporates these into his patients’ plans of care

In addition to clinical practice, he loves teaching. He has been on staff for KinetaCore (now Evidence In Motion), a premier Physical Therapy Continuing Education Company, since 2013 working as an instructor. Here he assists in instructing and certifying various health care providers including Physical Therapists, Chiropractors and Physicians in the technique of Dry Needling. He has also been an adjunct faculty member for the Graduate Physical Therapy Program at Marymount University. Dr. Pierce believes in continuing education and the advancement of his profession through education and research.

Throughout his career he has treated a very diverse patient population including orthopedics and post-surgery, neurological conditions, vestibular/dizziness, inpatient and outpatient wound care as well as athletes ranging from high school to the professional level. He consults with CrossFit athletes providing rehabilitative services, alternative programming/modifications to decrease de-training effect while recovering from injuries, as well as pre-habilitative consulting to help reduce risk of injury by identifying and addressing any significant impairments/dysfunction that the athlete may or may not be aware of.
He is very excited to be able to bring his experience to help those whose lives also revolve around helping others; the Fairfax County Fire Department.
