In Baltimore, quite a number of events will be underway during this holiday and winter season. Let’s take a peek at just a few of the family friendly events you won’t want to miss.

It’s a Waterfront Life

November 21st – January 19th

End this year on a good note or launch your new year with a memorable experience at the Mckeldin Plaza in Inner Harbour. This event runs from November 21st through January 19th. You can take advantage of various activities including photos with Santa and ice skating. You can also visit the Christmas village, an amazing attraction running from now through December 24, or get jolly with the Holly Jolly Tour where you get to see the best of Baltimore from now through December 25. This is just the tip of the iceberg – the Baltimore Waterfront has plenty to offer this winter!

Holiday Celebration at The National Aquarium

December 5th

Did you know “The Polar Express 4-D Experience” is playing at the National Aquarium Holiday Celebration this year? Get the whole family ready, as you will be thrilled with music and dance performances from around the globe. Your taste buds can join in on the experience, with plenty of holiday eats, including hot chocolate, of course.

Holiday Festival of Trains

November 28th – January 25th

B&O Railroad Museum: Ellicott City Station, 2711 Maryland Ave, Ellicott City.

Ellicott City Station brings you this year’s Holiday Festival of Trains. With a combination of both layouts: the O scale layout and children’s layout, you and the kids are covered. The even better news is that Santa is going to be around throughout this weekend from 11am to 4pm beginning Friday.

Festival of Trees

November 28th – 30th

Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road Timonium

The 25th anniversary celebration of Kennedy Krieger Institute’s famous fundraiser is warming up. You’ll be thrilled by the 700 creatively decorated trees and the holiday eats. As an added bonus, you’ll be gladdened to know that Ravens’ Kicker Justin Tucker will be the leader of the holiday story reading session at 5:30pm on Friday, the 28th.

A Christmas Carol

December 3rd – 23rd

Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, 7S Calvert St

Not like your usual Christmas Carol whether seen, told, or read. It’s the Chesapeake Shakespeare’s Company Carol at the 19th Century in downtown Baltimore. Enjoy a holiday classic with the kids this winter. Its preview starts on December 3rd and 4th, while December 5th is opening night.

A Monumental Occasion

December 4th

Mount Vernon Place, 6000 block of N. Charles St

This year’s annual lighting of the Washington Monument will not only feature lights, but a fireworks show. This spectacular event has music from local choirs and a holiday village with good from local vendors, so you can get your holiday shopping in as well.

Olde Tyme Christmas Festival

December 6th

Fells Point

Get the feel of Christmas in the oldies at the Olde Tyme Christmas Festival. Lovers of traditional Christmas celebrations with a blend of modernity will be thrilled at Fells Point this season. Come out to Main Street in Fells Point for caroling, Christmas lights, eggnog, and more.
